多読を始めて何冊か読みたい本を読んだ辺りで、次に読む本が
なかなか見るからない時があります。
そんな時に、一つの目安としてオススメできる洋書が
NewBery賞を受賞した洋書です！

ニューベリー賞は、1921年、雑誌”Publisher’s Weekly”編集主幹であるMelcherが米国図書館協会の会議で設立を提唱した、世界初の児童文学賞である。名称は、18世紀イギリスの出版業者で、児童文学の発展に貢献したJohn Newberyの名をとってつけられた。審査では、テーマや構成の秀逸さ・緻密さといった文学としての質と同時に、「子どもを惹きつける」ことが重要な基準となっており、単に教訓的なもの、人気が先行しているものが評価されるとは限らない。
説明のようにニューベリー賞は、児童書の中で毎年一冊だけ選ばれる権威ある賞です。
つまり児童書→比較的簡単で、素晴らしいと認められた作品を読むことが出来、「多読に間違いない！」って感じですね。

読んでも今の時代にマッチせずに面白くないかもしれませんので
60年代当たりまでから探せばよいかなと思っています。
